Youth Academy Newsletter 2014

Dear All,

I would like to welcome you to another summer of cricket down the Manor Ground at Haverhill, and take this time to inform you all of the developments and relevant information regarding the new season of Cricket for the Haverhill youngsters.

With another successful winter training campaign now completed, the focus is now on the outdoor training at Haverhill Cricket Ground and the 2014 season ahead.

Outdoor training will commence on Friday April 11th and will start at 6pm till 8pm. These sessions will be conducted under the guidance of Head Coach Adam Dellar and his ECB qualified team of Coaches. We would ask that all the children bring a drink with them to the training evenings and that they wear suitable footwear. (Training shoes with grip)

For those that have “Hardball Equipment” we would ask that they bring this to all outdoor training sessions. Training sessions will be £2.00 per session per child and the money will be collected at the Haverhill Cricket Club’s entrance gate. At the first session on the 11th April, we will be looking to register and sign on all the youngsters for the new season. In the event of bad weather cancelling the coaching session on April 11th, we would still like those of you that haven’t already signed on to attend. This will enable us to get as many children as possible signed on ready for the forthcoming season. Signing on will take place in the Cricket Club Pavilion.

Signing on Fees for the new season will be:

AgeMembership FeeCoaching FeeMatch Fee
Under 9£10£2 per weekNone
Ages 10 to 15£25£2 per weekNone

With the Training sessions now taking place on Friday evenings we would like to welcome all parents to the training nights and encourage them to watch the sessions as well as use the facilities of Haverhill Cricket Club’s Pavilion. I have attached a copy of the signing on form for your consideration and would ask that you fill it in and return the completed form to us at Haverhill Cricket Club on the 11th.

We are always looking for new youth section members so if your child has a friend who thinks they may like to play cricket then please encourage them to come along and join in.

Haverhill Cricket Club Youth Section will be running four teams for the 2014 season:

  • Borders League U11’s
  • Cambridgeshire League U13’s
  • Cambridgeshire League U15’s

With 2013 being an excellent year for HCC youth cricket we are looking for more of the same in 2014 and we look forward to welcoming you all to the Manor Ground for another promising season.

Yours in Cricket
Kevin Ruthven
Haverhill Cricket Club Youth Section Chairman
